Health Care Reform Begins with You
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Many Texans are participating in the conversation, turned uproar, about health care reform. I think that’s good. Whether you think health care should be nationalized or not, at least we are passionate about – and taking part in – the discussion about what role, if any, government should take in our medical system.
However, an equally important dialogue is what responsibility we have in our collective health care. It doesn’t matter whether an insurance company or the government writes the check to your doctor, your health will always come down to discussion of dollars. Because neither the government nor the insurance company have a vested interest in you getting well. In the end, it really is only you and your family who cares about your individual health. If you want someone to look out for your best interest, look no further than yourself.
